BRAND : "SPACED" logo

The logo is a result of this famous designer's SPACED logo competition that he announced on Twitter. So I grab the opportunity to display my ability to the logo making from a creative brief. This identity is perfect for future companies who want to establish a brand presence in space exploration and technology. This one of the best concepts I made for a non-client. It was fun.

RATIONALE:

Aside from having a modern and updated look and feel, the comet-like object around the S-spine effortlessly creates a negative space that forms an "S" for SPACED.

The logo typeface has a back-and-forth rocketship object forming an E as an engine booster trail - "CED" in SPACED. While "A" is an upright rocketship that is about to launch from a hanger. The "S" is filled part of the negative space.

I have been thinking about this dream project - creating a branding the MARS OCCUPATION so I came out with these concepts. And I also joined this online competition about creating a Mars habitat prototype a few years ago. Then, it gave birth to sub-brands namely HIVE and TRANSPORT.

HEXAGON is the best shape I can think of because this is the most economical use of space if we are going to construct a habitat on Mars - bees already know this. So I played around the hexagonal shape and think of a brand word which is the LYNX, slang for the link - creating link like the beehive. Hexagonal prototypes are modular for scalability and flexibility. 

LYNX is the primary business unit of the MARS GROUND ZERO who responsible for the regulations, construction, and establishment of the first community on Mars. The program will be transitioned to MARS GROUND ONE.

HIVE is the habitat unit of LYNX MARS GROUND ZERO.

TRANSPORT is the logistic unit of LYNX MARS GROUND ZERO.
